The rector of the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA), Remus Pricopie, signed the order to terminate the individual employment contract of Alfred Bulai, with immediate effect, after the Ethics Commission adopted a decision in this regard.
„Today, I received the decision of the Ethics Commission of SNSPA regarding the complaints of sexual harassment brought to Professor Alfred Bulai. I informed the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Cristian Pirvulescu, the president of the Senate of SNSPA, Prof. Dr. Iordan Barbulescu, and the Board of Directors that, as the rector of SNSPA and in accordance with Art. 172 of the Higher Education Law no. 199/2023, implement this decision, with immediate effect. Therefore, I signed the decision of ceasing of the individual work agreement of Alfred Bulai, starting today, August 6, 2024. I signed with the thought of the known and unknown victims of the one who, instead of being a teacher, a mentor for the young generations, chose to violate the basic principles of any civilized communities and to subject several people to undignified and abusive treatment,” said Remus Pricopie, quoted in a press release.
He expressed his hope that the „firm” action of SNSPA against those who do not respect the ethical norms and the dignity of every member of the academic community will be an example for other universities or public institutions in Romania.
