Social democrat Romascanu: PSD lists for parliamentary elections to be re-evaluated after Political Bureau decision

Published on

PSD (Social Democratic Party) spokesman Lucian Romascanu on Tuesday stated that the lists of his party for the parliamentary elections are going to be re-evaluated, after the National Political Bureau (BPN) decided to remove any person from such lists who is currently pending trial for corruption and related acts or incompatibilities.

„There are persons who already withdrew from the lists, whom you already know, but there is also a specific request from the leadership, as a result of the vote today, that everybody, all the presidents of our branches must re-evaluate the lists and take measures to remover that persons involved in corruption cases. As far as we know there are no such cases left, but we still need to re-evaluate the lists just to get sure there are no such problematic situations left,” Romascanu said at the PSD headquarters.

He also added that, following the BPN’s decision on Tuesday, PSD will come in front of the electors with lists featuring exclusively persons who are not involved „in any criminal trial.”
