Romania will continue to provide full financial, economic and political assistance to be with Moldova in these particularly difficult times, Speaker of Romania’s Chamber of Deputies Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday after welcoming Moldova’s President Maia Sandu at the Parliament House, according to Agerpres.

„A concrete economic plan to support Romanian investment in Moldova is the best guarantee to generate the confidence of Moldovan citizens in their European path. The only solution in this tense regional context is the partnership with Romania for a better life within the European family. Today, I told President Maia Sandu of our intention to include these measures in the future government agenda! In addition, I assured her that we will continue to provide full financial, economic and political assistance to be stand with Moldova in these particularly hard times,” wrote Ciolacu on Facebook.

According to him, Romania fully supports the efforts of Moldova’s pro-European administration to preserve the constitutional order and the rule of law in response to Russia’s security threats.

„The Republic of Moldova will have security and prosperity to focus its efforts on the European integration process,” the Social Democratic Party (PSD) national leader also said.

On a working visit to Bucharest, Sandu had political consultations at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace with President Klaus Iohannis and was welcomed by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca at the Government House.

Sandu paid her official visit on an invitation from Iohannis.
