On 13 August, during the official visit to Romania, the delegation led by Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, held a meeting with Dan Ștefan Tarcea, deputy mayor of the municipality of Cluj-Napoca.
Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation between Cluj-Napoca and the region represented by the Azerbaijani official, including the development of joint projects, attracting investment and exchanging experience.
Deputy mayor Dan Ștefan Tarcea presented the main infrastructure projects and development initiatives of the municipality of Cluj-Napoca. In turn, Elchin Yusubov provided information about the reconstruction and development projects carried out in Karabakh, as well as information about the process of the population’s return to the settlements in the region.
During the discussions, the process of normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia was also addressed, with the Azerbaijani official stressing the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus for the development of economic and trade cooperation with Europe, including Romania.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation ties, organising reciprocal visits and developing the exchange of experience in areas of common interest.
