Stock Exchange opens lower

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Wednesday’s trading session with declines across most indices, with turnover reaching 8.7 million lei (1.7 million euros) after 45 minutes of trading.

The main index, BET, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded a decrease of 0.26%, while the BET-Plus index, which reflects the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, registered a drop of 0.25%.

At the same time, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the top 25 most liquid shares, fell 0.18%, while the benchmark for investment funds, BET-BK, appreciated 0.08%.

The BET-FI index, which tracks the performance of the SIFs (Financial Investment Companies), posted an increase of 0.32%, while the BET-NG index, reflecting the performance of the 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, was down 0.15%.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies listed on the AeRO market, was up 0.17%.

According to BVB data, the biggest gains were recorded by Condmag (+10%), Biofarm (+2.01%) and Transilvania Investments Alliance (+1.91%).

On the other hand, the largest declines were seen in shares of Green Tech International (-6.70%), Sinteza (-4.35%) and Romcab (-3.85%).
