The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) saw gains across most indices during Wednesday’s trading session opening, with turnover amounting to 7.74 million lei (1.53 million euros), one hour after the start of trading.
The main BET index, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded an increase of 0.46%, while the BET-Plus index, showing the evolution of the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, rose 0.41%.
Similarly, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, covering the 25 most liquid stocks, was up 0.41%, while the BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund returns, increased 0.25%.
The BET-FI index, which tracks the performance of the five Financial Investment Companies (SIFs), registered a slight decrease of 0.01%, whereas the BET-NG index, comprising 10 companies in the energy and utilities sectors, recorded a gain of 0.52%.
The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market (alternative trading system), was down 0.36%.
According to BVB data, the largest share price increases were seen in Grupul Industrial Electrocontact (+8.7%), Farmaceutica Remedia (+6.06%), Altur (+5.92%).
On the other hand, the shares with the sharpest declines were: Compa (-4.67%), Oil Terminal (-4.2%), Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) (-3.36%).
