Suspicions of fraud for over 2,000 votes, we submitted request for recount in 30 polling stations(USR’s Mihaiu)

The mayor of Sector 2, Radu Mihaiu, requests the recount of votes in over 30 polling stations, stating that there are „documented suspicions of fraud” in the case of over 2,000 votes.

Radu Mihaiu, USR candidate for a new term, is present on Wednesday in front of the Electoral Bureau of Sector 2, Bucharest, to demand „respect for the people’s vote”.

Alongside him are other Save Romania Union (USR) members such as Elena Lasconi, Lucian Stanciu-Viziteu, Ionut Moteanu, Radu Mihail, Diana Buzoianu.

He mentioned that his request for a recount has not yet received an answer and accused a „delay” in resolving the situation.

Mihaiu specified that there were still three polling stations to be validated, but that USR submitted a request for the recount of votes in more than 30 polling stations, where „either the votes were reported incorrectly, or votes disappeared”.

„The voter put his vote in the ballot box, and his vote disappeared. It didn’t end up on the minutes or in the bags. We want to know what happened to these votes. (…) It is clear that in this Electoral Office the majority and all decisions are dictated by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) representative. From my point of view, this must stop. We must have a real election result, not a falsified one,” said Mihaiu.
