Tanczos Barna has announced that UDMR will not support a government that will need backing from AUR, SOS Romania or other extremist parties. 

‘UDMR welcomes this nomination. (..) As we argued when we made the proposal three months ago, and welcomed the fact that Mr Mureșan accepted the proposal put forward by the three parties, today we welcome this nomination.

We believe that the most important thing for Romania today is to think about a government that is not expected to last just a few months, and to find a political solution that ensures stable governance until 2028.

We stress once again that we will not take part in the formation of any government that will need the support of AUR, SOS or other extremist parties.

UDMR will not take part in such political arrangements, which is why we believe that the negotiations must resume next week in order to offer another alternative, another perspective and stable governance for Romania in the medium term,’ Barna said.
