Tennis: Jaqueline Cristian, Anca Todoni qualify for 2nd round of WTA 125 tournament in Bari

Romanian tennis players Jaqueline Cristian and Anca Todoni qualified on Tuesday, for the second round of the WTA 125 tournament in Bari (Italy), with total prizes of 100,000 euros.

Jaqueline Cristian (25 years old, no. 69 WTA), the third seed, defeated in the first round the Italian player Camilla Rosatello (29 years old, no. 282 WTA) 6-2, 6-3 in one hour and 20 minutes.

In the second round, Jaqueline Cristian will face the German Eva Lys (22 years old, no. 143 WTA), who defeated her in both direct duels, last year in the second round of 16 at the Transylvania Open, 2-6, 7-5, 6- 3, and this year in Dubai in the first round, 3-6, 7-6 (7/3), 6-2.

Anca Todoni (19 years old, no. 179 WTA) easily beat the French Fiona Ferro (27 years old, no. 126 WTA), 6-3, 6-0, in one hour and 12 minutes.

In the second round, Todoni will play against the American Elvina Kalieva (20 years old, no. 213 WTA), who defeated Irina Bara (29 years old, no. 223 WTA) on Monday, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2, after almost three hours of play.
