The Ambassador of Qatar thanked Romania for the support given in organizing the World Cup

Qatar’s ambassador to Romania, Osama Yousef Algaradawi, wanted to thank our country for the support offered through the Guard and Protection Service (SPP) in the organization of the World Cup of football in Qatar, during a reception, Agerpres reports.

„A moment has come that I have been waiting for years, a moment of glory, of great pride, of a great achievement. For the first time in history, an Arab region has the honor of hosting the biggest and most important sporting event in the world, the FIFA World Cup. I am happy and proud that my country, Qatar, is the representative of the Arab and Islamic countries, in organizing this extraordinary event, with the participation and support of many sister and friendly countries, to surprise and impress the world with this special edition of the tournament,” said the ambassador of Qatar.

„I would also like to mention the support offered to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup by Romania, through the Security and Protection Service (SPP). I take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to Romania for this contribution”, added his Excellency Osama Yousef Algaradawi.

Among the participants at the reception were the former great footballer Gheorghe Hagi, the president of the Romanian Modern Pentathlon Federation, Camelia Potec, the Prefect of the Capital, Toni Greblă, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, etc.
