On June 13, 2025, the Zionist regime of Israel violated the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and attacked areas inside Iran, including numerous civilian and public areas in Tehran and other cities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Several civilians and high-ranking Iranian officials were killed and wounded.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bucharest condemns in the strongest terms the acts of aggression by the Israeli regime against Iran, considering them a flagrant violation of international law, in particular international human rights law and international humanitarian law, as well as the Charter of the United Nations, especially the principle that says you can’t threaten or use force against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of states.

In response to this aggression, Iran is fully entitled to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to defend the Iranian nation and the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, as a founding member of the United Nations, an organization whose philosophy is to prevent aggression, breaches of peace, and threats to peace, emphasizes the obligation of the UN Security Council to take immediate action regarding Israel’s aggression and breach of international peace and security. In this regard, the powers of the UN Secretary-General, in accordance with the UN Charter, are also recalled. All members of the United Nations are expected to immediately condemn this aggression and refrain from providing any support or assistance to the Israeli aggressor.

The dangerous and far-reaching effects, as well as the consequences of the Zionist regime’s aggression, will be the responsibility of this regime and its supporters,” the Embassy’s statement said.
