The MFA rejects Putin’s accusations, „which falsely induce the idea that Romania has territorial claims from Ukraine”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania rejects Vladimir Putin’s accusations, after the Russian president stated, on the occasion of National Unity Day, that several Western countries, including Poland and Romania, would like territories of Ukraine.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania rejects the assertions expressed by the President of the Russian Federation in the speech given on the occasion of National Unity Day, which falsely induce the idea that Romania has territorial claims against Ukraine.

The MFA emphasizes that the war of aggression launched by Russia on February 24 is a serious and brutal violation of the principles of international law, including the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

In this context, Romania reaffirms its firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, within its internationally recognized borders, the MFA reports.
