Dutch police on Tuesday arrested a fifth suspect in the investigation into the theft of art objects from the Drents Museum in Assen, according to politie.nl.

The 36-year-old man was arrested at a home in his hometown of Alkmaar, police in the Netherlands said.

The stolen golden treasures have not yet been found.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning and taken to a police station.

This man is not the suspect who was seen in a hardware store in Assen, of whom the police have previously published video footage.

He is to be questioned about his possible involvement in art theft.

After the arrest, the police searched a house in Alkmaar. Data carriers were confiscated, and additional investigations are expected.

The investigation into the theft is still ongoing, and the priority is set on retrieving the stolen golden treasures, according to the police.

Previously, this investigation led to the arrest of four suspects. Three of them are still in police custody.

Thieves set off an explosion at the Drents Museum in Assen in the early hours of January 25. Three gold bracelets and a gold helmet were stolen, the centrepiece of the exhibition „Dacia. The Kingdom of Gold and Silver” of over 500 pieces loaned from Romania.
