The three-month ROBOR index, used to calculate the cost of variable-interest consumer loans in lei, rose on Wednesday to 5.94% per annum, up from 5.76% at the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of 2025, the ROBOR index stood at 5.92%.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-interest mortgage loans in lei, increased to 5.96% per annum, from 5.79% per annum on Tuesday, while the 12-month ROBOR rose to 6.02% per annum, from 5.92%.
As regards the Consumer Loan Reference Index (IRCC), regulated by Government Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it stands at 5.68% per annum. The IRCC is calculated as the simple average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions recorded in the third quarter of 2025.
