The three-month ROBOR index, used to calculate the cost of variable interest consumer loans in lei, rose on Monday to 5.75% per annum, from 5.74% per annum in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR)
At the beginning of 2025, the ROBOR index stood at 5.92%.
The six-month index, used to calculate interest on variable rate mortgage loans in lei, fell to 5.78% per annum, from 5.79% per annum on Friday, while the 12-month ROBOR decreased to 5.92% per annum, from 5.93%.
As for the reference index for consumer loans, regulated by Government Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it stands at 5.68% per annum, calculated as the arithmetic mean of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
