Romania “strongly” condemns Iran’s recent attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, Acting Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu said on Wednesday, according to Agerpres.
She emphasized in a post on the X platform that these actions constitute a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these states and “a grave threat to regional peace, security, and stability.”
‘Our thoughts are with the victims of these unjustified attacks, and we wish those injured a speedy recovery. We reaffirm our full support for efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law. We call on all parties to exercise restraint to avoid actions that would lead to an escalation of the situation,” Țoiu added.
One person was killed and several others were injured in Kuwait in attacks carried out by Iran on Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, according to AFP.
The attack targeted “civilian and vital facilities, particularly Kuwait International Airport, causing one death and several injuries, as well as damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions,’ the ministry stated in a press release condemning ‘Iranian aggression.’
“The security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory are a red line,” it added.
Kuwaiti authorities also announced that 63 people were taken to hospitals following the Iranian attack on the airport.
The Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for the attack in Kuwait in a statement.
