The value of trade between Romania and Germany increased by 17.7% in the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period last year, reaching 28.8 billion euros, according to a press release from the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), sent to Agerpres.
The organization quotes the latest figures of the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
Thus, exports to Romania amounted to 14.8 billion euros, which means an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period in 2021, while Germany’s imports from Romania are approaching 13.1 billion euros , up by 20.6% compared to the situation recorded in the first nine months of last year.
These results place Romania in 19th place in the top of Germany’s trade partners regarding exports and 21st regarding imports.
„The data show a sustained dynamic of bilateral economic relations and represent an indicator that German companies want to continue investing in Romania. The proximity to Western Europe, especially in the context of the reorientation of the supply chains, and membership in the EU and NATO are important assets of Romania,” said Sebastian Metz, general director of AHK Romania.
AHK Romania is the official representative of the German economy. Established in 2002, AHK counts for over 550 member companies and offers companies an important platform for networking, exchange of information and experiences. Through the services it offers and through the events it organizes, AHK Romania actively supports German companies when they enter the Romanian market and is also a partner of Romanian companies interested in the German market.
