The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu, presented three decisions made to increase the level of grain transit from Ukraine through Romania, in a press conference organized in southeastern Constanta, on Friday, write Agerpres.
The press conference took place in the Port of Constanta, following a meeting between high representatives of the United States of America, the European Union, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Romania, discussing the transportation of grain from Ukraine. The event was organized by the US Embassy in Bucharest.
The first decision refers to the continuous navigation on the Sulina Canal, a project that will be implemented this autumn, the second decision refers to the increase in the number of pilots, from 54 to 64, with the help of the Ministry of National Defense, and the third decision refers to the transshipment of grains directly from one ship to another, ship-to-ship, so that only through this operation we will be able to increase this transport capacity by 500,000 tons, said minister Grindeanu.
