The 10th edition of the Transylvania International Book Festival (FICT) will bring 60 events, including 47 book launches and 116 guests from the cultural field to Cluj-Napoca, September 25-29.
„Transylvania International Book Festival (FICT) opens its doors for its 10th edition, marking a decade of excellence in promoting literature and culture. From September 25-29, book lovers are invited to participate in a rich programme of cultural events, book launches, conferences and exhibitions, with distinguished guests from the country and from abroad. Specifically, this year there will be 60 events, 47 of which are book launches. Cluj citizens (and not only!) are also expected to attend conferences, debates and meet the 4 special guests. A total of 116 guests will be present at this year’s FICT events,” reads a press release sent by the organisers on Tuesday.
According to the cited source, one of the key moments of this year’s edition will be the conference „The editor’s job today”, which will be held by Irina Petras, president of the Writers’ Union of Romania, Cluj Branch. The event will mark 10 years of FICT and 10 years of activity of the Publishing House. The volume „The Book of Childhood Books”, coordinated by Irina Petras, will also be launched.
The special guest of FICT 2024, Daniele Dell’Agnola (Switzerland), will launch his book „Luna din cufar” (The Moon in the Chest) (Scoala Ardeleana Publishing House), in the presence of the protagonist of the novel, Iolanda Giovanoli, who is 84 years old.
„The 10th edition is a celebration of our literary community and 10 years of FICT tradition. We are happy to have prestigious guests and to offer unique events to the public, from important book launches to interactive activities for children,” said FICT director Gabriel Bota, quoted in the press release.
The Transylvania International Book Festival Transylvania (FICT) was established in 2013 with the aim of supporting Romanian culture. Over time, FICT has become more than just a festival, and is now an umbrella under which different events with books at their centre take place, either recurrently or occasionally, depending on different cultural needs.
