Ukraine acknowledges that the drone that exploded in the Port of Constanța belongs to it, but says it was jammed by the Russians: “Romania was warned”

Ukraine acknowledges that the maritime drone that exploded on Friday in the Port of Constanța belongs to it. According to authorities in the neighboring country, the drone was reportedly disrupted by Russian electronic systems, and Romania was warned of the danger.

The drone in the Port of Constanța is a Ukrainian drone that went out of control due to jamming by Russian electronic warfare systems, the Ukrainian Navy announced, according to Reuters and AFP, as reported by Agerpres.

As a result of this jamming, the drone deviated from its course and drifted toward the Romanian coast, according to the same announcement posted on Facebook.

“While carrying out missions in the Black Sea operational zone, one of the Ukrainian Navy’s unmanned naval drones lost control under the influence of enemy electronic warfare systems and ended up near the coast of Romania,” the Ukrainian Navy’s statement reads.

Ukraine contacted the Romanian side to warn them and prevent casualties, the Ukrainian Navy further stated.
