Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI), an independent member of the European Parliament, says that Romanians are struggling more and more following the tax hikes, and that our country is resorting to borrowing because we no longer have industry or productivity. Furthermore, he argues that Romanians are not consulted, and politicians only reach out to them during election campaigns, according to realitatea.net.
“Are you better off if you pay higher taxes? I can’t hear you! Are you better off? If you paid higher taxes, were you somehow better off? And I don’t know about it? Well, then where’s the money? The country is like a home! You’re families, too. If the pater familias, the father, isn’t a good steward, the whole family goes down the drain! You end up selling your car, selling your house, and ending up on the streets,” the MEP said.
- MEP Luis Lazarus (NI) emphasized that Romania is borrowing because it no longer has an industry that generates revenue.
“Where is Romania supposed to get money? Where else but by borrowing? If it no longer has productivity, if it no longer has industry, if it has no strategy,” he added.
According to him, “there is a referendum law. This referendum law states that the people must be consulted on important matters.”
“When did you consult the people, huh? When do you fool them every four years? And then we no longer have the means to remove you!” he concluded.
