Unaffiliated MEP Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI) expects concrete measures related to the fact that Romania has the highest emigration of any peacetime country in Europe today!

Published on

Independent Member of the European Parliament Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI) drew attention in the European Parliament plenary session several months ago to the fact that “Romania has the highest rate of emigration of any country in peacetime in Europe today!”

Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI) returns to the issue and is still awaiting answers to his questions regarding concrete measures to halt this phenomenon: What are you doing, Commissioner, about such situations? Do you have any concrete strategy, such as developing another app or scheduling various monitoring activities?

Here is the full text of the speech by independent MEP Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI):

“In recent decades, Romania has been led by political hacks, impostors, and incompetents. As proof, Romania has the highest emigration rate of any country in peacetime in Europe today. Millions of Romanians—we don’t even know the exact number, probably 6–8 million—are scattered across all countries. Our teachers and engineers have left to pick strawberries and asparagus in Spain and Germany. Our doctors have emigrated to France en masse.

And, of course, our mothers have ended up in Italy working as caregivers for the elderly. In doing so, many have even put their own health at risk. The children stayed home, and, naturally, being unsupervised, this phenomenon we call “bullying” took hold.

But what do we do when bullying breaks out of its cyber realm and enters the real world? Let me give you an example. A few days ago, last week, two children aged 13 and 15 killed a 13-year-old boy. A father and his son jumped off a building and committed suicide because they had no prospects left.

Is something like this even possible? What are you doing, Commissioner, about such situations? Do you have any concrete strategy, such as developing another app or setting up various monitoring systems? I’m afraid we’re getting nowhere!” said Luis Lazarus.
