Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI), an independent member of the European Parliament, said regarding the amendment of the treaties: “Fine, amend them, but do so to uphold the sovereignty of the states that make up this European Union.”
- Independent Member of the European Parliament Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI) says: “Strange discussions about the FEDERALIZATION OF EUROPE have begun today! One person on the left even used the term UNITED STATES OF EUROPE! Things are taking a dangerous turn!!!”
The full message from Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI), an independent member of the European Parliament:
“I believe it is very likely that this discussion will go down in the history of debates in the European Parliament because I observe that, in its infancy, we are finally witnessing the unveiling of your plans.
Long ago, I said that the goal is to federalize Europe and abandon the principle of unity in diversity, for how else can there be federalization if not by giving up our traditions, our customs, our religion, and everything that constitutes national identity? Now I hear about reforms to the treaties, I hear about changing the treaties.
Very well, change them, but change them for the sovereignty of the states that make up this European Union. A colleague said that no country can be independent in any way. I disagree with you, sir, Romania was energy-independent, and you have used the Green Deal to shut down our mines, to shut down our thermal power plants, to drive our people into exile across the European Union or to other countries, so that we no longer have energy independence.”
