Independent Member of the European Parliament Luis-Vicențiu Lazarus (NI) announces that, unfortunately, it is not a good day because today there were waivers of immunity in the European Parliament, and Diana Șoșoacă’s immunity was also waived; he voted against this waiver of immunity and even personally told her that he is very sorry that it has come to this.

Moreover, the immunities of some of our Polish compatriots were also lifted; some of whom are actually my friends, especially Mr. Iachy, who is an exceptionally good MEP and who is the co-chair of the ICR group and has been asking me for several months to join their group. That is why we know each other very well. I get the impression that those in Poland with a sovereignist president are in a much worse situation than we are.

Anyway, beyond that, I saw that a large and solid majority has formed in Romania to oust Bolojan. Very good. But when I looked at the lists in question—which had gathered 250 or so signatures, three of them, I think—I noticed that some of them had forged signatures.

That is, one person signed for several others. I hope I don’t wake up tomorrow or the day after to find some opportunists from the PSD and PNL popping up to say, “Hey, I didn’t sign that; someone else signed in my place.” Not for any other reason, but it wouldn’t be the first time.

Moving past that, however, I didn’t understand another aspect that is extremely important and that really troubles me because it’s also related to the European Union, the Parliament, and the Commission. Basically, they’re saying, “Look, if we manage to get rid of Bolovan, that’s a terrible thing. He raised the VAT, didn’t index pensions or salaries, and now we’re indexing pensions and salaries and lowering the VAT back down.”

Man, I think we’re playing blind man’s bluff here. I think we’re just taking the piss out of people. I mean, you can’t make statements like that.

Well, you, PSD, you who were in Parliament, you who were in the Government, you who approved all these measures, you who approved Bolojan’s packages, you who agreed to the VAT increase—now you come and say you’re rolling it all back. I mean, you didn’t raise pensions, you didn’t raise salaries, now you come up with the salary law, saying you’re fixing the salaries. Well, all I’ve seen you do, led by that guy, is raise your own salaries.

I mean, that’s what this is all about. Furthermore, ah, you’re indexing salaries and pensions—I don’t know, do you have the money? Because you haven’t resolved some extremely important issues. And specifically, what do you need to resolve? You need to find solutions, talk to the European Commission, and get them to allow you to extend the implementation deadline for the PNR, which expires in August.

If you don’t resolve this issue, you can kiss those 10 billion goodbye. You’ve already lost 5, so you’ll lose all 10.”

If you lose 10 billion, how many things could you have done with that 10 billion? So you won’t be doing them anymore. 2. You stuck your nose in where it didn’t belong and went and borrowed 17 billion-something for the Safe program. Ah, someone had the courage to come and say, “Sir, but we still don’t agree.”

There was a loose cannon around here, a certain Bolojan—as we call him—and we don’t agree with this, with SAFE and things like that. We can’t borrow 17 billion, regardless of whether there might be a grace period, regardless of whether the interest might be low, but in the end we have to pay back that money. We’ll end up paying interest on interest down the road, and that’s not fair and it’s not normal.

So if we lose another 10 billion plus another 17-something, that’s 27.5 billion I’m losing from the state. And if I add to that the fact that a few days ago there was the Coreper story and our representative went quickly to vote—well, the ambassador went and voted quickly so we could take out the loan, another loan for Ukraine, 90 billion, of which Romania is covering at least 5, I think I’m pretty good at arithmetic—not arithmetic—to come up with a total of about 32–33 billion.

Well, guys, if you lose 33 billion because you made some stupid decisions, how the hell can you still afford to tell people that if you come back to power—since you haven’t been in power until now— but with a different formula—without Bolojan, with a reformed PNL, and again with the USR—and I don’t know what, you’ll index pensions and salaries and lower the TV tax.

Man, seriously, aren’t you even a little ashamed? How far is this going? How far and for how long? Things like this really can’t be tolerated, and I’m not going to stay silent. I’ve got you covered, and we’ll catch up tomorrow.
