Unemployment rate stagnates at 1.04% in Bucharest, in January

More than 12,700 unemployed were registered by the Bucharest Municipal Employment Agency at the end of January, with an unemployment rate staying at 1.04 pct, according to Agerpres.

„At the end of January, the Bucharest Municipal Employment Agency recorded 12,789 unemployed (of whom 6,576 women), the unemployment rate being 1.04 pct. Compared to the previous month, when the unemployment rate was 1.04 pct, this month, this indicator has remained constant,” a press release of the AMOFM Bucharest informs.

Out of the total of 12,789 people registered in the records of AMOFM Bucharest, 1,210 were beneficiaries of unemployment allowance, and 11,579 were unemployed without compensation. As for the residential environment, all of them are from the urban environment.

The unemployed with high school education have the largest share in the total number of unemployed registered in the AMOFM Bucharest records (37 pct), followed by those with higher education (24.59 pct), and 17.99 pct have high school education. The unemployed who graduated from a vocational/arts school represent 16.38 pct of the total registered unemployed, those with post-high school education represented 3.34 pct, and those with elementary or no education, 0.70 pct.

The structure of the registered unemployed by employability level, established by profiling, is as follows: 1,864 people are very difficult to employ, 4,196 are difficult to employ, 3,710 are moderately employable, and 3,019 are easily employable.
