The upgrading of the Casa Verde 2025 Programme [Green House] represents a step forward for a more accessible and fair renewable energy sector for all prosumers, claim the representatives of the Association of Prosumers and Energy Communities of Romania (APCE).
Regarding the announced measures, the APCE representatives mentioned two important initiatives. The first refers to the implementation of a distinct programme for the acquisition of batteries for existing prosumers. „This initiative, previously proposed by APCE at the end of last year, meets the need of those who have installed photovoltaic systems without storage solutions and who now want to optimize their energy consumption,” the press release states. At the same time, this measure supports the local industry, considering that Romania has a national battery manufacturer.
According to the same source, the second initiative refers to the elimination from the programme of inverter manufacturers that require the use of compatible batteries exclusively from their own portfolio or from a single supplier.
„This measure will prevent situations in which prosumers become dependent or captive to a particular manufacturer, which can lead to unjustifiably high costs for batteries. For example, currently, in the case of some brands, prosumers are forced to purchase dedicated batteries, which can generate prices that even exceed the cost of an inverter. However, it remains to be seen whether this distinct programme for batteries comes to the aid of those who have benefited from financing in the past or for those who have installed photovoltaic systems with their own funds,” the same press release states.
According to APCE, these proposals come to the support of prosumers and aim to create a fair and efficient framework for the development of renewable energy in Romania.
„Obviously, for 2025, the problems of beneficiary registration remain in suspense, just as in 2024 we had those „digital skills olympiads,” which led to the use of extensions and all kinds of programmes with registration in 16 seconds. In particular, it remains to be seen whether these programmes will have increased co-financing of beneficiaries, compared to the current level of only 10%,” the document also says.
At the same time, APCE considers that the announced changes represent a step forward for a more accessible and fair renewable energy sector for all prosumers and remains an active partner in the dialogue with the authorities and reaffirms its commitment to supporting public policies that support prosumers and energy communities in Romania.
