USR’s National Bureau decided, by a large majority, to convene the party’s Political Committee to hold a vote of support for party president Dominic Fritz, MP Ionuț Moșteanu announced.

‘Today, by a large majority, we decided in the National Bureau to convene a Political Committee to hold a vote of support for party president Dominic Fritz. No one dictates what happens in our party, we are afraid of no one, they cannot intimidate us, we have one duty – to the people who placed their trust in us,’ Ionuț Moșteanu wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

The USR MP added that the party would not be intimidated and accused others of using ‘Securitate-style methods’.

‘I have confidence in the courage and team spirit of my colleagues. They have always shown that they stand on the side of what is good, fairness and truth,’ Moșteanu said.

The Constitutional Court ruled constitutional an amendment introduced into the Integrity Law at the request of PSD and AUR, under which elected officials found to be incompatible or in a conflict of interest lose their positions.

By a majority vote, CCR declared constitutional the provision in the law stipulating the termination by operation of law of a public office/public dignity 30 days after the law enters into force.

USR representatives complained that the amendment introduced into the law targets the party president, Dominic Fritz, who has a final ruling concerning a conflict of interest.
