Volodymyr Zelensky: Ukraine wants peace. Russia wants war

Published on

„Ukraine wants peace. Europe wants peace. The world wants peace. And we saw who is the only one who wants war,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his recorded speech, calling on the international community to punish Russia for „crimes of aggression against our state”, according to DPA, Agerpres read.

In a video conference speech delivered during the annual session of the UN General Assembly, on the same day that Moscow declared partial military mobilization in the country, Zelensky said that Russia is not seriously interested in peace negotiations, it fears real negotiations with Ukraine and does not want to fulfill any international obligations.

„They (the Russians) talk about negotiations, but announce a military mobilization. They talk about negotiations, but announce pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Russia is afraid of real negotiations and does not want to honestly fulfill any international obligations. She lies to everyone, as is typical of bullies and terrorists. Even now, when it talks about negotiations, Russia only wants to mask its withdrawal. Russia wants war”, Zelensky added.
