Volume of turnover in retail trade up by 2.4% in first eight months

The volume of turnover in retail trade (with the exception of trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased in the first eight months of this year, compared to the period January 1 – August 31, 2022, both as a gross series by 2.4%, and as series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality by 2.5%, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), write Agerpres.

The evolution of the gross series in the mentioned period was due to the increases recorded in the sales of non-food products (+3.9%) and in the sales of food products, beverages and tobacco (+3.4%). The retail trade of motor fuels in specialized stores decreased by 2%.

On a series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, the evolution was due to the increases recorded in the sales of non-food products (+3.8%) and in the sales of food products, beverages and tobacco (+3.1%). Retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles in specialized stores decreased by 1.3%.
