The former Minister of the Environment, Tánczos Barna, was, on Friday, in the Sona commune of Alba county, which started the national cleaning program, right before the Hungarian community organized its cultural days in the area.
Tanczos Barna is the initiator of the legislative proposal National Cleaning Day, supported both by the UDMR and by parliamentarians of the governing and opposition parties.
In the Sona commune in Alba county, the Hungarian community is preparing for the 3rd edition of the Hungarian Cultural Days, and community members believe that, in addition to the cultural programs, it is essential to identify the common points that unite the entire community, because the problems with that face all the inhabitants are the same.
Thus, at the initiative of the Hungarian community association in the area, the town hall showed itself open to organizing a local cleaning action, which, according to the ‘Let’s Do It, Romania!’ initiative, should have taken place on the third Saturday of September, but, according to the organizers, „the start was stolen” on September 13.
According to the former minister of the environment, our country can be a clean one, if everyone contributes to this effort.
„We will have a clean country only if we all contribute to this effort. That’s why we supported the initiative ‘Let’s Do It, Romania!’ and we proposed the establishment of the third Saturday of September every year as the National Clean-up Day. It is essential to support the activity of civil organizations, which play a crucial role in mobilizing local communities”, Tánczos Barna said in a statement for the national news agency.
