Three people were detained following a house search in the town of Mihailesti, the southern Giurgiu County, where authorities found buried in the courtyard of a building 14 kilograms of cocaine, with a market value of over one million euros, as well as about 800 grams of cannabis and cannabis resin.
Prosecutors of the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) – Central Structure ordered the detention of three defendants, one of them previously convicted of crimes of the same kind, investigated for committing risk and high-risk drug trafficking offenses. From the criminal investigation documents carried out, it emerged that, between January and May 2024, they repeatedly possessed and marketed different quantities of risk and high-risk drugs to consumers in Bucharest, but also in Ilfov and Giurgiu counties.
The judge of rights and freedoms of the Bucharest Tribunal was notified with the proposal for a 30-day preventive detention of the defendants.
The judicial activities were carried out together with the police officers of the Bucharest Organized Crime Brigade.
The action was carried out with the support of gendarmes from the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie.
