The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Thursday that since the beginning of the West Nile virus infection surveillance period – June 3 and until September 5, as many as 47 cases have been registered, of which 40 confirmed and 7 probable.
According to INSP, there have been four deaths from West Nile virus infection – three in Suceava county and one in Bucharest.
Most cases – 14 – were registered in the 70-79 age group and 11 in people aged between 60 and 69, the INSP said.
