4,747,604 pensioners, in May 2024, average pension, 2,249 RON

As many as 4,747,604 pensioners were registered in May 2024 in Romania, with 670 people less compared to the previous month, and the average pension was 2,249 RON, according to the data centralized by the National Public Pension House (CNPP).

The total value of the due pension rights amounted to almost 10.676 billion RON.

Of the total number of pensioners, 629,317 had periods of work in agriculture, the average pension being 636 RON.

According to CNPP statistics, of the total number of retirees from the public pension system, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,811,420 people, of which 2,188,234 were women, while the average pension was 2,507 RON.

In May 2024, 4,780 people received early pension (3,158 RON, average pension), 87,553 people received partial early pension (2,300 RON, average pension) and 392,297 people received disability pension (average pension of 956 RON), of which 45,015 people for the first degree of disability (826 RON, average pension).

In the same month, the survivor’s pension was granted to a number of 450,809 people (1,178 RON, average pension), while 115 pensioners received social aid (539 RON, on average).
