88 defendants, definitively convicted in March and April in corruption cases

88 defendants were definitively sentenced in corruption cases in the months of March and April, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) informed on Monday.

„In the months of March and April, in the corruption files instrumented by the DNA, 88 defendants were convicted by 58 final court decisions, for crimes of taking and giving bribe, influence peddling, abuse of office, fraud of European funds,” DNA said in a press release sent to AGERPRES.

According to the source, the punishments ordered by the judges vary between four years and nine months in prison and eight months with the postponement of the punishment, and among those definitively convicted are a vice-chancellor of a university in Bucharest, a director of a national company, two directors within public institutions, four police officers and agents, a judicial executor, two mayors and eight civil servants.
