President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday that education reforms need patience and perseverance and expressed the hope that politicians will show maturity and will not immediately intervene with changes that may affect the course of the new education laws, write Agerpres.

„The recently adopted education laws give us a chance for a new start in an area that is fundamental to any modern society. However, education reforms require patience and perseverance, because results are seen over time and not overnight. Let us therefore give the new laws a chance to be implemented.

I hope that politicians will show maturity and will not immediately intervene with changes that may affect this path, as, unfortunately, many previous reforms have been diluted by such interference. I like to believe that our common goal is to build an educated Romania, where every child has the chance to explore his or her potential and to evolve professionally and personally,” said Iohannis, at the opening of the school year at secondary school no. 162 in Bucharest.
