Through the new salary law, we want to have a formula that will bring performance in the public sector through a salary system composed of a fixed part and a variable part, the minister of Labor and Social Solidarity Simona Bucura-Oprescu told a Thursday’s meeting with representative unions in the field of local public administration, write Agerpres.

The minister emphasized, once again, that an efficient, citizen-oriented administration, is needed, and in this sense, a law on salaries in the public sector that stimulates performance represents an essential objective, according to a press release from the ministry. Bucura-Oprescu said that a salary law based on equity is desired.

„Through the new salary law, we want a re-hierarchy that brings equity both within occupational families and vertically. That is, equal work, equal pay. We also want to have a formula that brings performance in the public sector through a salary system composed of a fixed part and a variable part,” added the Labor minister. The representatives of the trade unions showed interest in contributing to the development of legislation that would bring stability and predictability.
