The government has approved a program for the next four years through which 410,000 children, school and preschoolers, will receive an educational voucher worth 500 RON (rd 100 euro) annually for the purchase of school materials, the funds being provided from the European level, informed, on Thursday, the minister of Investments and European Projects, Adrian Caciu, write Agerpres.
The minister specified that the educational vouchers are intended for the procurement of school materials and clothing. „A program that targets around 410,000 children, annually, who come from families with low incomes. For preschoolers, the condition is that the average income per family member is 633 RON, and for primary and secondary school students 50% of the minimum gross salary,” Adrian Caciu explained.
„This program, compared to what it was in the past, because Romania has had similar programs through which it supported families with low incomes, as an element of novelty – everything will be digitized, so that parents will only have to make one single effort. They will submit an application to the school, and the entire process of analysis, verification of incomes, transmission of cards to parents will be done through the institutions that deal with them, namely the Ministry of Education, the School Inspectorates, the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, and the money will be loaded on the card. We, as a deadline, hope that in the middle of November all these cards will be loaded. The normative act provides as a deadline for submitting the application 45 days after the start of the courses. So, somewhere at the end of October these requests should be submitted,” the minister added.
