Ministry of Health: 7,701 new cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 in last week

The Ministry of Health informs on Tuesday that, in the week of October 9 – 15, 7,701 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered, write Agerpres.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2,687 of the new cases from the last week are in reinfected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection. To date, 3,485,792 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered.

The incidence recorded at 14 days is 0.82. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 279 people were reconfirmed positive, the Ministry of Health stated.

In the last week, 3,501 RT-PCR tests and 44,289 rapid antigen tests were performed. Up to this date, at the national level, 13,944,703 RT-PCR tests and 14,140,017 rapid antigenic tests have been processed.
