The National Meteorological Administration has issued several Code Yellow and Code Orange warnings for wind and storms, which will gradually affect the whole country starting Monday evening.
Thus, for the period April 1, 20:00 – April 2, 8:00, a Code Yellow warning has been issued according to which the wind will gradually intensify in Banat, Crisana, Oltenia, the western half of Transylvania and Maramures, with speeds of 55…65 km/h and in isolated areas 70 km/h, and in the second part of the night it will turn into a storm.
In the Western Carpathians and Southern Carpathians, at high altitudes, wind gusts will exceed 100…110 km/h.
The warning applies to the western half of the country.
For Tuesday, April 2, a Code Orange warning of strong wind has been issued for 19 counties and the capital. Between 8:00 and 18: 00, this warning will affect Satu Mare, Salaj, Maramures, Cluj, Alba, Bistrita-Nasaud, Suceava, Neamt and Botosani counties, and especially in the afternoon and Teleorman counties, Giurgiu, Ilfov and the municipality of Bucharest, Calarasi, Ialomita, Prahova, Buzau, Braila and the continental area of the counties of Constanta and Tulcea.
Generally, there will be speeds of 80…85 km/h, and at high altitudes in mountainous areas, wind gusts will exceed 120 km/h.
A Code Yellow warning of wind and storms is valid on Tuesday, from 8:00 to 22:00, for the rest of the territory. Winds will be strong throughout the country, with speeds of 55 to 65 km/h and locally 70 to 80 km/h. Occasional thunderstorms will be reported. In the high mountains, wind gusts will exceed 90…110 km/h.
At altitudes above 1600 m mixed rainfall will be reported, and in the Apuseni Mountains and in the northern Eastern Carpathians water quantities of 10…20 l/mp will accumulate.
