National passenger car production up by 7.1 pct in first three months of year

The national production of cars increased in the first three months of this year by 7.1%, to 152,912 units, compared to the same period in 2023, according to data published Wednesday by the Romanian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACAROM).

According to the cited source, in March 2024, 53,696 cars were produced in Romania, down 3.12% compared to the same period last year, when 55,428 units were recorded.

Out of the total number of cars manufactured in the period under review, 28,602 units left the Dacia plant and 25,094 left the Ford Otosan plant.

Between January and March 2024, Dacia produced 90,197 cars, while Ford Otosan reported 62,715 units.
