Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu on working visit to the United Arab Emirates, April 18-19

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu will pay a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday and Friday, an important objective of this visit being to strengthen the economic component, with a focus on attracting Emirati investments.

The prime minister is scheduled to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, other senior Emirati officials, representatives of relevant companies in the United Arab Emirates, as well as members of the Romanian community,” reads a press release sent by the Government to AGERPRES.

The agenda of the visit also includes a plenary meeting of the delegations, during which bilateral documents will be exchanged in areas of common interest.

„We wish to strengthen cooperation relations with the United Arab Emirates, from a political and economic perspective. Romania continues to attract Emirati investors in air infrastructure, the modernization and expansion of (Bucharest Henri Coanda International, ed. n.) Otopeni Airport being a viable project of our collaboration. The projects in the fields of digitalisation, energy and agriculture also correspond to our interests,” said prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, referring to the objectives that the Romanian delegation will be pursuing on this visit.

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu will be accompanied by the minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminita Odobescu, the minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Stefan-Radu Oprea, the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin-Ionut Barbu, minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Bogdan Ivan, president of ANCOM, Valeriu Zgonea, president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Bociu, president of Hidroelectrica, Karoly Borbely, the director of the Port of Constanta, Mihai Teodorescu. The ministers who are part of the delegation will have official meetings with their counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, the press release added.
