The minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, presented, on Thursday, in the Government meeting held in western Timisoara, the ongoing infrastructure investment projects in Timis county, noting that they are worth 10 billion RON, respectively 2 billion euros.

„So, because we are in Banat (region, ed. n.), allow me to start by announcing the implementation of a project that has been awaited for years. This morning, together with the prime minister, we also met with the mayors of the area, especially the directly concerned, the mayor of Beba Veche, who is present in the building, namely the Beba Veche international border crossing point. We will approve the necessary government decision in today’s meeting. It is a project that has come a long way. Also here, in Timisoara, you remember, in September last year, I had a meeting with the Hungarian Foreign minister, Mr. Peter Szijjarto, and we decided the steps to follow,” said Grindeanu.

He also referred to the Timisoara belt, noting that „it is going at a very good pace” and that it will be inaugurated in July this year, but also to the unblocking of the tender for the West Belt.

Grindeanu also referred to the project of the new stadium in Timisoara, „to UEFA standards, as it deserves. Although it is not a project of the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Prime Minister, I, as a resident of Timisoara, am proud that we will be able to watch football matches on a new stadium, with 30,000 seats”.
