The Premier Energy Group acquired the Mihai Viteazu wind farm in southeastern Constanta county, a region famous for its favorable wind conditions, the total installed capacity being 80 MW, and the estimated net production 165 GWh per year, the company announced on Monday.

The value of the transaction is 88 million euros and includes approximately 520,000 green certificates. This will be subject to the standard regulatory approvals for this type of transaction in Romania.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the strategic acquisition further strengthens Premier Energy’s commitment to leadership in sustainable energy production and practically doubles its footprint in the operational wind energy asset.

Premier Energy Group, together with its subsidiary Alive Capital, is one of the biggest players in the renewable energy segment, with an installed capacity of over 900 MW in ownership, management and development in Romania. Before the acquisition, the wind farm was managed by Alive Capital. This transition ensures seamless operational continuity and underscores Premier Energy’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and performance.

With this latest acquisition, Premier Energy consolidates its leadership position in the renewable energy sector, strengthening its production capabilities and reconfirming its commitment to sustainability and shareholder profitability, the release states.

Premier Energy has 2.4 million household and non-household customers in its regional portfolio and operates a gas distribution network of over 3,600 km in several counties in Romania.
