Prosecutors with the Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) have detained a foreign national after finding three kilograms of cocaine hidden in his car in Bucharest.

According a DIICOT press statement released on Tuesday, DIICOT prosecutors ordered the detention of a foreign national investigated for committing crimes of high-risk drug trafficking and possession of high-risk drugs without a right for own consumption.

„The measure was taken after he was caught in the act of possessing for sale, in a vehicle he was travelling in, three kilograms of cocaine (packed in three packages). He was also found hiding in a spectacle case two packets containing about eight grams of cocaine.”

DIICOT asked for a 30-day preventive detention of the foreign national.
