Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania, slightly down in March 2024

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania decreased slightly to 5.3% in March 2024 on a monthly basis, but it continued to be high among young people (15-24 years), at 22.1%, according to data released on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Male unemployment exceeded female unemployment by 0.8 percentage points, 5.7% to 4.9%.

The number of people aged 25 to 74 accounted for 74.1% of the total number of the March 2024 unemployed. Adult unemployment (25-74 years) was estimated at 4.2% for March 2024 (3.9% for women and 4.5% for men).
