Gov’t’s clear intention is to increase minimum salary up to 3,700 RON, says PM

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu on Tuesday stated that the government’s „clear intention” is to have the minimum salary increased up to 3,700 RON.

After he participated in an extraordinary session of the government that took place in Brasov, the head of the Executive was asked by the journalists what is going to happen in July, when the measure by which 200 RON from the minimum salary per economy are exempted from taxes expires, and if this measure will be prolonged.

„Let’s have the meeting with our social partners first, both with the trade unionists and with the employers’ unions, as usual, and then we will inform you,” said Ciolacu.

The PM was also asked about the possibility that the minimum salary will grow starting in autumn and not in July.

„At this point, the government has the clear intention to increase the minimum salary up to 3,700 RON,” said Ciolacu.
