After 15 years, works on the three regional hospitals have kicked off, PM Ciolacu says

Published on

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu on Friday expressed his satisfaction with the start of construction work on the three regional emergency hospitals in Iasi, Craiova and Cluj.

Being on the construction site of the future regional hospital in northeastern Iasi, Ciolacu declared that regional hospitals are the most important investments in the health field in Romania.

„After 15 years, finally, even if we have models and panels, we also have a construction site in the back. It was a team effort of the ANDIS (Agency (National Agency for the Development of Infrastructure in Health, ed. n.) too, and of the Ministry of Health and we still managed to unlock, from my point of view, the most important investments in the field of health, the three regional hospitals: the one from Iasi, the one from (central-western) Cluj and the one from (south) Craiova,” stated Ciolacu.

He hopes that the works on the new hospital in Iasi will be completed before the terms stipulated in the contract, i.e. the end of 2028.
