Published on

The minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, said on Friday, in northeastern city of Iasi, that preparations are being made for the reception of several Palestinian children who will be treated in medical units in Romania, after they were injured in the attacks of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

Alexandru Rafila declared, without specifying a specific number, that these children will be brought to Romania through the European Protection Mechanism.

„Those from the Department for Emergency Situations (…) take care of the transport. We are preparing for the treatment according to the pathology. We already have such a list. The pediatric hospitals in Bucharest, for those with multiple traumas, the Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital, and possibly Marie Curie Hospital. The oncological ones will probably be taken to the Fundeni Clinical Institute,” minister Rafila added.

The minister of Health also said that he cannot indicate a definite date regarding the bringing of these Palestinian children to the country, but it will take place „in the very, very near future”.
