ANAF reorganisation completed, fight against fraud to be taken to new level, says Finance minister

Published on

The reorganization of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) will take the fight against fraud to a new level and this broad process is a crucial step to ensure that the money that should go to investments or to the operation of medical institutions is efficiently collected, and not end up in the black economy, considers Finance Minister Marcel Bolos.

„We now have the specific position of anti-fraud inspector, which allows us to improve the operational control structure in the fight against fraud. In addition, we ensure the operationalisation of the county territorial structures that aim to combat illicit economic activities. Thus, it will be possible to constantly conduct, at any time, control actions on all categories of taxpayers, regardless of the form of organisation, but also in any place, regardless of the form under which economic activities are carried out,” wrote the minister on his Facebook page.

On the other hand, the minister of Finance announced that the Romanian Customs Authority has implemented a new system, completely digital, which will allow a more efficient and secure management of goods transit.

„So, operators will no longer have to carry papers around. This new system makes the transit of goods more efficient and secure, reducing waiting times at customs offices. An aspect that we are not used to hearing is that Romania has not only implemented this system, but has ranked first among the EU Member States, having the lowest error rate in the European bloc,” wrote the minister of Finance.
