About 500 Romanian and allied soldiers participate in Dacian Strike 24 exercise in Galati County

Approximately 500 Romanian and allied soldiers are participating, May 24 – 28, in the multinational exercise „Dacian Strike 24” (DAST24), which is taking place in the Smardan Secondary Combat Training Centre in Galati county.

„DAST24-2 is led by Headquarters Multinational Division South – East and trains forces from the structures of Headquarters Multinational Brigade South East, 82nd Airborne Division (USA), French Brigade Forward Command Element (BFCE), NATO Battle Group Romania, 52nd Mixed Artillery Regiment General Alexandru Tell and 282nd Armoured Brigade ‘Unirea Principatelor’. Also participating in the exercise are the Romanian Air Force (IAR 99 Soim, IAR 330 Puma Socat) and the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom (Eurofighter Typhoon EF2000),” reads a press release from the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

DAST24-2, which is part of „Dacian Strike”, is a joint command exercise with troops on the ground. It is taking place simultaneously in Romania, at Smardan and Capu Midia, and in Bulgaria, at Novo Selo.
